What’s your ambition for Wodapolooza?
Tayla: To have soooo much fun and win with the girls.
Shelby: We winning this thang, obviously. And also have the most fun out of everyone out there. Practice associating competing with fun, and don’t throw up.
Do you have any competition day superstitions?
Tayla: Rest the day before, and make sure my nails and hair are on point. Take a walk with some chill music, relax and watch Netflix.
Shelby: Listen to Linger by The Cranberries. Doing the New York Times Wordle and Connections games are a must.
What's your competition-day breakfast?
Tayla: Brekki stays the same – overnight oats with vanilla protein/ berries peanut butter honey (lots) and raisins.
Shelby: Lots of juice or a smoothie, honey avocado toast with eggs and some fruit.

What do you like most like about competing?
Tayla: I love meeting everyone I haven’t seen for long periods. This sport is amazing in how it allows you to make friends from all over the world. I love being on the floor at 3, 2, 1 go because I’m so present in the here and now.
Shelby: Challenging myself despite fear and always proving I’m tougher than I thought. I’m learning I can overcome more than I think and that a lot of my ‘restrictions’ are self-imposed.
What do you like least about competing?
Tayla: I always get super-bad belly cramps on day 2/3 as I’m out of rhythm with stuff. I sometimes find it hard to get to sleep.
Shelby: Discomforting nerves and over-salivating. Vomiting kinda sucks too.
What shoes will you rock at Wodapolooza?
Tayla: I’ll mix between the F-LITE MAX and ROADFLY. I’ll choose the colours on the day.
Shelby: F-LITE MAX. My go-to training shoe for all things.
