How to measure the length of your foot

On a hard floor, put a piece of paper against a wall.
Stand on the paper in your socks. Wear the type of socks you’d normally wear with this type of shoe.
Make sure the back of your heel is against the wall and that you’re placing your weight on your foot.
Ask someone to make a mark on the paper, at the end of your longest toe.
Measure that distance to determine the length of your foot.
It’s common to have one foot bigger than the other, so make sure you measure both feet. Pick your shoe size based on the length of your longer foot.

Depending on the type of activity you’re doing you may wish to go for a more precision fit (for racing for example). Equally you might prefer a wider fit if you are running longer distances or lifting heavy weights.

How to measure the width of your foot:

Make sure you’ve measured the length of your foot first. You’ll need this measurement to work out the correct width.

On a hard floor, put a piece of paper against a wall.
Stand on the paper in your socks.
Make sure your heel is against the wall and distribute weight evenly.
Trace a line around your foot and mark the widest point.
Measure the distance and compare with the width chart.

Choose the width based on your wider foot measurement.

Built for hills, mountains and mud, the MUDTALON provides superior grip on any terrain you'll encounter. Talon-like 8mm studs will gouge through soft mud, but also cling to wet rock for dependable grip and traction. The unique goat's hoof shape of the studs also release the mud just as quick once you push off, keeping you feeling light and in control.

The MUDTALON benefits from our lightest midsole foam yet: POWERFLOW PRO. Compared to the MUDTALON SPEED, the MUDTALON has a slightly thicker midsole, to give greater comfort and bounce over long distances. Despite the cushioning, the shoe's midsole has been designed in such a way that you can still feel and respond to the ground beneath you - something that's particularly important when running in the hills and mountains.

The brand-new anatomical shape of the MUDTALON hugs the natural contours of your foot, locking in at the heel and widening at the toes for a secure, comfortable feel. Built into that we have two new specific fits for MUDTALON - Precision Fit and Wide Fit. The biggest difference between the two fits is the width at the toe-box, with the Wide fit being wider:

- Go Precision Fit if you have narrow feet or like a closer, more secure feel. It allows for greater nimbleness and agility when running and contouring over steep or tricky terrain.

- Go Wide Fit if you have wider feet or like an extra comfortable feel with more wiggle room for toes. It allows for greater comfort when running longer distances, when toes can often swell.

A secure, locked-in feel at the heel is achieved by a MET-CRADLE. Thick overlay strips connect your midfoot to your heel, which pulls in when you tighten your laces. Underfoot, a flexible ROCK-PLATE protects your feet against sharp rocks and tree roots.

The MUDTALON's tough upper is made from ballistic nylon. This rugged and robust material will protect against wear from vegetation and rocks when in the hills and mountains.

Product Care

Running Footwear

To maximise the life of your running shoes, make sure you dry them fully between runs. When dirty or muddy, clean your shoes to maintain the flexibility of the upper and its resistance to wear.

Washing:

For best results hand wash your shoes as close to the end of your run as possible. To wash your shoes:

Remove the insoles and loosen or remove the laces.
Brush off dried/caked mud using a soft brush.
Rinse your shoes under cold running water while brushing off any remaining mud/debris (an old toothbrush is perfect for this).

Drying:

Place your shoes in a warm room, an airing cupboard or outside (but not in direct sunlight) to dry. Do not dry your shoes in a tumble drier or next to radiators, fireplaces or hot summer sunlight.

You can speed up the drying process by removing the shoe’s insole and shoelaces, and by stuffing them with newspaper.

Make sure your shoes are completely dry before wearing again.

RE-WATERPROOFING:

As with all water-repellent treatments, over time they begin to lose their effectiveness. To maintain your shoe’s waterproof finish, we recommend periodically re-waterproofing them using a product such as Grangers® Footwear Repel Plus.

Warranty

We pride ourselves on the quality and performance of our products. However, in the unlikely event of a fault of defect, all INOV8 products come with a 12-month warranty.

Ballistic Nylon Upper

Tough ballistic nylon provides excellent protection against wear and snags. At the same time a gusseted tongue stops debris entering the shoe and a toe guard protects against trail hazards. Thick MET-CRADLE strips connect the midfoot to the heel, creating a locked-in feel when you tighten the laces.
